After working for the magazine for two years, she was ready for a
change. She wanted to work for a magazine that focused on social issues, so she
took the offer to be the managing editor of Reader’s Digest Indonesia (RDI). While working for RDI she pursued a Master’s
Degree in American Studies at University of Indonesia. Her professor took an
interest in her thesis and her academic performance, and offered her to work as
an assistant lecturer. She left her career in the media and began to emerge
herself in the academic life.
In
2009 she received Fulbright scholarship to pursue a Doctoral study in
Communications at the University of Colorado, Boulder where she developed her
interest in gender, health and HIV/AIDS issues. She has been actively involved

been accepted and presented in numerous international conferences, including
the AIDS Conference in Washington D.C in 2012.
She currently lives in Boulder, Colorado, where she teaches undergraduate classes in Contemporary Media Analysis and Media Law, while writing her dissertation on gender, religion, and the discourse production of HIV/AIDS in Indonesia.
